[comp.sys.mac] Cambridge Z88 use with Macintosh

lnolan@mdcbbs.com (09/19/89)

I've been looking at the Cambridge Z88 two pound (weight) portable computer,
and am looking for anyone who has one and has used the software for up/down
loading files to/from a Macintosh. My criteria for a portable are low cost and
low weight, battery operated, and up/down loading to my Macintosh at home and
work. How's the Z88 keyboard?

Z88 keyboard is fine. Z88 is quite easy to use. I've had problems with the
format of documents after transfering files. Some of this may be due to me
using MS-Word rather than MacWrite but some of it is due to the differences
between the Z88 Word Processor format and (either of) the Mac wordprocessors.

Could you be more specific about the kind of trouble you've had with
MS Word? Did you transfer it as ASCII text or MacWrite? If I got this, it
would have to give me text usable by Word or some drawing programs. Does
ASCII text come in different flavors?
