Our testing of the new Macintosh IIci, running the new System software,
version 6.0.4, with a Spectrum/24 24-bit video card and a SuperMac
Trinitron monitor, has revealed an incompatibility. SuperMac technical
support has confirmed that System 6.0.4 is currently not compatible with
the Spectrum/24 video card and its accompanying software.
SuperMac's programmers are working very hard right now to perfect a
software patch. This patch will, we are told, be mailed to ALL registered
owners of the Spectrum/24 board, and will be distributed to all SuperMac
dealers. This is a very high priority for them (for obvious reasons!),
so should be ready shortly. Give them a few days, but you should then be
able to contact your authorized SuperMac dealer for a copy of the patch.
Disclaimer: I'm providing this information ONLY as a public service. I
work for an authorized dealer of Apple and SuperMac products,
but do not speak for either company, nor even for my employer.
