[comp.sys.mac] Spice program for Mac?

kessler@schof.colorado.edu (Andrew Kessler) (09/27/89)

Does anyone have or know of a program to analyze circuits on the Mac?
Or a program to draw circuits would be nice too.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Try PSpice from MicroSim Corporation.

PSpice from MicroSim Corporation
20 Fairbanks, Irvine, CA 92718
(714) 770-3022

There is a student version of PSpice that is almost free (7 or 8 dollars
for disks). get this, copying of PSpice , the student version, is welcomed
and encouraged. This version has a limit to the number of circuit nodes. If
you are careful you can analyze a 10 transistor circuit, DC, AC, transient, etc. PSpice comes with a program called Probe.
Probe is a graphics postprocessor. This means that you can get graphs, not
SPICE plots.

I've just finished a small project (about 4 blocks of 15 gates) on a
mac II with DigSim 2.0, but I don't think I'll recommend or buy the program
myself unless a version 3.0 or so is out. DigSim got the job done, but I
couldn't get simulations to work properly, I didn't like the appearance of
the finished circuit, and the program had no printing ability. Also, saving
over a circuit file was impossible: I ended up with files like "circuit v1"
on up to "circuit v6" or so.
If DigSim 3.0 exists and has the features I want, or another program
does, I'd love to hear about it. Meantime, DigSim is ok if you have to do
circuits on the mac.
