[comp.sys.mac] Is it possible to have two menubars on two screens ?

zeller@ethz.UUCP (Lukas Zeller) (10/02/89)

The situation is simple: a MAC-IIcx with the standard video card (256 colors)
and a 12" color monitor *plus* the Apple 2-page monochrome display (16 gray-
scales). As far as I could find out, the Monitors CDEV allows to place the menu-
bar on either screen, but not to have a menu bar (the same) on both screens.
This is annoying if you are working with, say, PageMaker on the big screen
to lay out some document and using an image processing software with colors
(or more than 16 grayscales) on the small screen *simultaneously*. Now the
control panel must be open all the time to allow switching the menu bar
"on the fly", because using menus on the "other" screen when your application
runs on "this" screen is extremely unhandy.

Therefore my question: Is there a possibility to have the menubar available on
multiple (two, at least) screens simultaneously? Some Cloverleaf-Shift-Option-
Control-Tripleclick "hidden" feature in the Monitor CDEV? Any INIT or CDEV
(public domain or commercially available) that can do this?

Sorry if this was discussed recently, but although I try to follow this group,
I cant't afford reading comp.sys.mac all day and might have missed it.
Please answer via email; I'll summarize. Thanks a lot !
