Ok, I have seen prices quoted at around $1600 for the SE-SE/30 upgrade and am wondering what the eductional discount price will be. I went down to the computer shop at UNC-CH and the man told me that the price would be ~$2100 and I told him to go jump in a lake. I paid ~$2100 for my SE and couldn't believe it. Also, if I can get it for $1600 retail I'll just go buy it somewhere else (just kidding, I realize that he was incorrect). Anyhow, does anyone (APPLE ARE YOU LISTENING?) happen to have the real price??? Please let me know as soon as possible. Also, if you know any of the details of the upgrade (does Apple get the motherboard of the SE back, can I keep my 256K simms, etc) please let me know these also. Thanx, Andrew W. The Suggested Retail Price on the SE/30 Logic Booard Upgrade is $1699.00. Maybe the $2100 price included the credit for the return of the old logic board to Apple? Carl Fosler

Hi. The local Apple dealer is really (*really*) eager to sell me the SE->SE/30 motherboard swap upgrade. (He's really really eager to sell me the Superdrive upgrade too, and Virtual, and a DeskWriter, and the new HD that I'd need to run Virtual :-) Could people email me experiences they've had with the motherboard swap? Does it work well? Or are there as many incompatabilties/difficulties as with the Apple IIe->IIGS upgrade that went on a few years back? If there's enough interest, I'll post the responses. Thanks!
