Can anyone suggest to me how I find out why the repair shop that has my AppleColor monitor can't get a $50 part from Apple to fix it? Three months back a high voltage capacitor / voltage regulator broke for no reason. Indiana Univ. where I work has an authorized Mac repair group, and they said about half a dozen AppleColor monitors broke with the same problem at this same time (the monitor turns itself off whenever you turn it on). Well, my monitor has been sitting for these three months, and my macII is unusable, waiting for a part from Apple. Who can I contact to find out why there is such a long delay? Do I need to throw out the old monitor for want of a part and buy a new one? Is there an alternate vendor for parts (is it a Sony?) -- Don gilbertd@iubio.bio.indiana.edu
