Hey there... I'm posting this regarding a friend's SE/30 (she only stoops to talk to us SE types when she has a problem)... please email responses, as I can't keep up with this group very well. Configuration: SE/30, 4mb RAM, 80mb internal HDSC, Standard System 6.0.3 Here's the problem, which occurs in Adobe Illustrator (not 88) and Aldus Pagemaker 3.01. Menus are intelligible. *grin* Pretty simple. You start up the application and everything in the menubar and the menus is garbled. Well, not quite that straightforward. SOMETIMES it takes a couple keystrokes before they flake out; sometimes the menbar is OK and the menu choices are messed up. In addition, the garbling is different from time to time. Sometimes the characters are squished together, sometimes spread out so that F...i...l...e covers 2/3 the width of the screen. However, all the choices work as if they were fine (e.g. I can choose "Quit"). So far, I've tried: removing all extraneous fonts (in case of some font conflict), removing all DAs/CDEVs/INITs, switching between Finder/Multifinder, starting up from a locked 6.0.3 master, starting up from MY locked 6.0.2 master, taking a copy of Illustrator that works fine on my machine and putting it on hers, and punching the monitor. Same problem every time. Help! Any thoughts would be appreciated... --- Sean +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Sean P.
