I gotta admit, this one got to me .... Pull on your Nomex suits .... Corporate America paying for MY educational discount? This is the biggest crock I have seen on USENET in a long time! My "discounted" price (for an SE/20) at the University bookstore was about $250 less than New York street price! And I paid state sales tax since it was a personal purchase. Maybe you ought to kick butt in your purchasing department if you are still paying list price (MSRP.) Given that corporate America really pays for very little in higher education and yet reaps its technological fruit, I think support for an educational discount is a small price to pay. You never know when your industry is going to need a subsidy. Look at the tax break being written into the new federal tax law for the TUXEDO industry (two year depreciation instead of five years!) Well, I guess we can wear our tux's while the country goes down in technological flames because its workforce is boing trained for the last industrial revolution! If you don't like educational discounts, look for another argument. I gotta go .... paul j. drongowski usenet: {decvax, sun, att}!cwjcc!pjd!pjd case western reserve university csnet: pjd@alpha.ces.cwru.edu
