=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= We are trying to use Red Ryder 10.3 Everex EMAC.MD2400 modem SE/30 with system 6.03 together. We have used the same software and modem with a regular SE and did not encounter _this_ problem. Here is what happens: After running 10.3 the attempt is made to dial with 'ATDP' or 'ATDT + the number of the BB. The Mac just freezes with the dead arrow cursor, causing us to have to reboot with the side switch. Is this a software problem as the manual for the Everex suggested or (is Red Ryder 10.3 not compatible with the SE/30 ?? I have not found anything in the RR docs to help us. THANKS FOR ANYONE THAT CAN GET THE LIGHT ON FOR US HERE IN THE DARK. =-=-= Email: david@jc3b21.UUCP -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Dave =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= EOT

I am running RR 10.3 with SE/30 and have not seen any problem with the functions that you describe. R 10.3 seems to work as good/bad (please make your own choise) as on a Mac+ and a SE. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Tel - home : +46 764 624 68 Internet : danny@stacken.kth.se work : +46 8 768 07 20 Telemail : [DKOHN/EDUNET]MAIL/USA fax : +46 764 672 75 Radio : SM0NBJ@SM0ETV --------

Usually what happens is that the port does not respond for some reason and the mac locks up, this maybe caused by some INIT that you have installed on the 030 that is not on the other SE you refer to. I have also read about problems with the Everex modems too...perhaps trying another modem on the SE30 will change the symptoms? -- Norm Goodger SysOp - MacInfo BBS @415-795-8862 3Com Corp.
