Perhaps some of your formatting problems can be solved by using Apple
software.  I've never used the EMAC disk formatting/partitioning software
on our EMAC drives (we've got several) since Apple's HD Setup program has
always worked fine.  Never have done partitions, though.

Is there a technical reason why I shouldn't use Apple software on the EMAC?
