[comp.sys.mac] Images from resonance data

kevin@kosman.UUCP (Kevin O'Gorman) (09/27/89)

I have a need for software to make 3-d images of bone structures of
persons who are scanned by magnetic resonance imaging devices. The
images need to be in the form of mathematical models, from which we
can calculate distances and angles.

I'm hoping such stuff exists somewhere already. I would really like
it if it works on Macintosh, but that's not an absolute requirement:
we just need to do this without spending forever making measurements
on each individual, and with an ability to store the data for later
review and comparison.

Anyone know of such stuff in existence?

I have some software operating on the Sun-III/160 color workstation
that can probably do much of what you seem to want. This software
does not, however, run on a Mac of any variety. I might eventually
be able to port it to MacIIci/AUX; however, it would be quite slow.
Please send more details on the nature of your data (raw proprietary
scanner data files, 2D gray scale pixel files, CCD camera images of
film recorder output) and exactly what kind of measurements you want
to obtain. We may be able to establish a useful collaboration.
