This is a problem I've been having for as long as I've used PageMaker. Occasionaly, text that is specified as italic in Word will import as: a) italic (most common, but that's what you'd expect :-) b) plain (uncommon but annoying) c) mixed plain and italic (usually the first few characters of an italicized word or sentence, extremely annoying and ugly to boot) I haven't been able to discern a pattern, and I've been using PM/Word for a couple of years now. Does anyone know the reason for this two-facedness, or (heaven forbid) a solution? thanx, -mike
