Adding yet another straw in the wind to the HD floppy/FDHD discussion: We own a PC-compatible with a 1.4 mbyte 3.5" disk drive. We've noticed a very high failure rate for brand new disks. These are brand-new IBM-labeled disks. I don't know who makes them. About 20-30% of these disks fail after being reformatted a few times. In a development environment, its merely annoying (and expensive). If we were delivering customer software on these puppies, it would be a whole lot more serious. Our diagnosis is that it's the media at fault, not the drive. -Bill Leue leue@crd.ge.com Disclaimer: These are personal opinions only, not GE's!
