[comp.sys.mac] SuperPaint 2.0 and Word Edit Link

kehr@felix.UUCP (Shirley Kehr) (10/18/89)

Someone recently noted that they had successfully linked a SuperPaint
graphic in Word. I thought they meant SuperPaint 2.0. Yesterday,
Silicon Beach called to clarify the problems I had reported and said
that this Edit Link was the workaround for the problem.

I have not been able to do the link. The Word Manual says that if the
graphics program does not open automatically, that you should have it
running already. I tried it both ways, and got the same error
message: No painting or drawing program is active.

The procedure is two places in the Word manual and it's so simple I
can't see what I could be doing wrong. I opened the SuperPaint document
that has the graphic, selected the pasted graphic in Word and pressed
command-comma. That's when I get the error.

By tomorrow I should have the updated disks (so I can print using the
LaserWriter 6.0 driver). Maybe that version of the program will work,
but I couldn't imagine a fix like that when some of you reported that
there are no bugs fixed other than working with the new driver.

By the way, Silicon Beach said they are aware of the problem where a
graphic pasted from Word back to SuperPaint 2.0, fixed, then pasted
back to Word creates problems. They are working on it and still don't
know if it's them or Microsoft.

If anyone knows how to make this link work, please tell me what I'm
doing wrong. Thanks
