This may have been asked before, but I couldn't find it in my archives: I've recently tried using a Radius QuickColor (QD accelerator) card (with Radius monitor and color video card) on a Mac IIci. However, the software installer returns a message that the IIci is an unknown machine and can't proceed, and when I drag the QC init to the System Folder and reboot, I get a message that the 32-bit QuickDraw in the IIci is incompatible with the init. Adding the Radius-supplied 32-bit QD init will not override the 32-bit QD in the ci's ROM. Has anyone worked out a patch for this? I've tried reaching Radius without success (phone lines out here are still jammed at times)? Thanks! Contact our Technical Support people at (408) 434-1012 (I think that's the number - I never call it myself). I don't know if we have "officially" release the new version of the QuickColor init, but they should be able to get you the latest "beta" version of it (which from what I've seen seems to fix the problem with no additional problems). There is also a new version of II Display for the Mac IIci - you'll want to request this too. }Thanks! No problem! Glad I could help. If you have problems getting this stuff from Tech Support, ask whoever you're talking to to give me a call (Steve Lemke in Engineering) and I'll talk to them about it. Good luck getting through on those lines - I think the bay area phone lines are starting to settle down a bit now and hopefully you can get through.
