I've been having a recurring problem with SoundMaster where for no known reason its programmed sysbeep is not used and instead the standard sysbeep (the monkey for me) is used. Through experimenting, I've found that if I reboot with only SoundMaster I get SoundMaster's sysbeep, and then if I immediately reboot with all my normal inits (28 in all), SoundMaster's sysbeep remains working. When I come back the next day (after an overnight poweroff), the old monkey is back. Does anyone know what is going on and how I can solve it without having to boot my machine twice first thing in the morning to get SoundMaster to work? BTW, all other SoundMaster sounds I've set work properly all the time; only the beep doesn't work. -- Peter Steele, Microcomputer Applications Analyst Acadia University, Wolfville, NS, Canada B0P1X0 (902)542-2201x121 UUCP: {uunet|watmath|utai|garfield}!cs.dal.ca!aucs!Peter BITNET: Peter@Acadia Internet: Peter@AcadiaU.CA
