I just recently downloaded system 6.04 from GEnie. While Apple usually condtradicts themselves: telling us that system 6.04 will be for the Portable and the IIci, System 6.04 is also a bug fix release. It works on all Macs except the old 512K Macs or "enhanced Macs" There are fixes and improvements to: the Finder, Mulitfinder, Appleshare, Key Layout, Keyboard, DA: chooser, control panel, calculator, Key Caps Cdev: Map, Closeviw. Apple File Exchange, Responder, Access Privilges, Sound, etc. Funny how these files are fixed now! The Installer is actually nice! (If you have the for disks and the files organized the proper way) It's easier, faster and better to use. Yes the Portable cdev and the Battery DA are included. One of the fixes included a problem with disk insertion/ejection on the Plus. _______________________________________________________________________________ Willi reply to: fast slow perez@andromeda.rutgers.edu draco.rutgers.edu GEnie: W.PEREZ1 mail: RPO 0043 POBox 5063 New Brunswick, NJ 08903-5063 _______________________________________________________________________________

According to the release notes, HC 1.2.5 is a CO-REQUISITE to this release. now how do I get my mits on 1.2.5? I have found that indeed there are problems; upon quitting 1.2.2, my system got hung up and I had to reset. not a nice behaviour. N.R.Fildes
