I'm trying to decipher the on-disk structure of HFS and have gotten just enough information from _Inside Mac_ to be hazardous. I'm hoping some of you gurus out there can supply the missing pieces of the puzzle. When I examine the Extents Tree and Catalog Tree, the first block never conforms to the structure detailed in _Inside Mac_. I'm guessing that the first block is not a normal B*-tree node, but rather contains summary information about the tree, such as pointer to root node, pointer to free nodes, etc. Am I right? What is the structure of that first block? Thanks in advance. -- Greg Hinton DOMAIN: hinton@netcom.uucp UUCP: uunet!apple!netcom!hinton
