SEK@PSUVM.psu.edu (Sonja Kueppers) (10/27/89)
I apologize if this subject has been discussed recently; I don't usually read this group. A friend of mine wants to buy a computer before she graduates, so she can get the university discount. Her problem is that she can't figure out what kind of computer to buy; both mac and ibm (or clone) have advantages to her. One factor she considers highly important is the availability of statistics packages; she is in psychology and does a LOT of statistics. Unfortunately, neither of us are aware of any statistics packages available for the Macintosh, so we were hoping the wisdom of the net would enlighten us. If anyone knows of stat packages for the Mac, could you please send me information about them? Specifically, the name of the package and the address of the publisher, but if you're more energetic you're welcome to provide me with other info, like where I might find a review of the package (I have access to just about all the back issues that exist of quite a few publications), or your own experiences with it. (price isn't really a MAJOR consideration, but if you know it, feel free to send it along.) Thanks very much! -Sonja ------- -----------------------------Sonja Kueppers------------------------------- |SEK@PSUVM (bitnet) | "Argue for your limitations and | |SEK@PSUVM.psu.edu | sure enough, they're yours." | |SEK%PSUVM@psuvax1.uucp | -Richard Bach | --------------------------------------------------------------------------
