There is a global system variable call MonkeyLives. Right now I'm looking in the back of "How to Write Macintosh Software" and it says it's an integer at 0x100 and that "Monkey tester in use if >=0" I think that all the Monkey DA does is set this global and the system generates random events. I'm not sure if it is still supported, but at one time it was used as an acid test for the user interface section of your program. If someone still has the DA around I'd like a copy. It's not the kind of thing you want to run if your HD is mounted. There's always the chance the monkey will generate a quit and then and erase disk event. -ME
