Unfortunately, when you exit your application, these "random floppies" will still appear on the desktop. I find this logical from a programmer's viewpoint (after all, Finder insists on showing any diskettes that are mounted) but illogical from a user's viewpoint (after all, you inserted your random floppy for a few seconds to read data off of it, then ejected it and put back your original... a rather transitory appearance). Worse, if you do this a lot in the same program (trying to find the right file on unlabelled floppies for example :-)), you will exit the program to a desktop with a boatload of phantom icons, and you may even be prompted to insert several of them.
