[comp.sys.mac] Both NCSA & MacTCP versions of NCSA/BYU Telnet available

loganj@yvax.byu.edu (11/11/89)

Now both versions of NCSA/BYU Telnet 2.3.1 (the NCSA and MacTCP versions)
are available for anonymous ftp from...

machine ip number username password

zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu (128.174.20.50) anonymous guest
noc.byu.edu (128.187.7.2) guest anonymous

The MacTCP version requires that you have Apple's MacTCP product installed
on the Mac. The NCSA version includes it's own TCP driver.

Both versions have a primitive FTP client that allow MacBinary file
transfers directly between Macs that are connected to the internet.
For some reason it seems that an "ftp get" transfers a file much
faster that an "ftp send".
