[comp.sys.mac] MAC<->UNIX

Thank you all very much for your responses & suggestions re: MAC<-> UNIX ...

Most of you suggested the public domain MacKermit program. I am using the
0.98(62) version for remote dial-up and so far it is O.K. Good VT100 and
new scrollback capability. I hope that they can implement internal cut & paste
and printing real soon. The file transfer is somewhat slow, but VERY dependable.

Many of you also suggested some form of zmodem. My problem there was that
even though the sources are readily available, the dependability of sz & rz
is quite shaky right now on my UNIX system. We also have something called
Umodem. This is also quite undependable. Sometimes MF 1.5 (Microphone) can
send/receive to it and sometimes not.

There were also many supporters of the Versterm products out there. I have
never used this commercial product, but; from all of your superlatives it must
be pretty good. The big surprise to me was the lack of support or suggestions
for Red Ryder, SmartComm and Micrphone (the so-called Big 3 of Telecomm.)

Thanks again for all of your help ....
