[comp.sys.mac] Word problems using Fractional Widths

I just started using fractional spacing in Word (v4.0) and I've found
that whenever it's on the define styles dlog is messed up. The list
of formats in the bottom text box turns to garbage chars. When I turn
fractional widths off it comes back fine.

Anyone else experience this problem? Any solutions?

please respond via email if possible and I'll post a summary if 
the problem turns out not to be stupidity on my part.
