For those of you who are looking into buying a Mac, you may be interested in the current promotion. (Which is for university students & staff.) It's worth noting that, without the discounts Michael listed, univeristy pricing is now on a par with that of most aggressive discounters. And the promotional discounts are useless for smart buyers who would rather get a third-party hard drive and printer. The days when Apple sought to encourage students with lower prices are over, it seems. (Granted, the public rebate program is just as ridiculous for individual buyers, inasmuch as the rebates are only good on Apple's uncompetitive peripherals.) Grobbins. grobbins@eniac.seas.upenn.edu
