Dear Folks: I would like to thank the person (I forgot the name so this is why I'm posting this message over the net) who gave me advice on how would I get rid of the "Welcome to Macintosh" sign that stayed on my desktop after the Finder loaded up. He told me to kill the init "StartupDesk" with ResEdit. After a little trouble using it (crashed Mac thrice), I FINALLY got rid of that init.
