I received it from MacConnection on their first day of shipping it! I just said I'm thinking of sending it back or selling it it to somebody with a laserwriter who might need the admittedly improved screen displays. Don't accuse me of stealing! I actually read the manual and the large number of corrections in the file on the disk, while it peaked my curiousity about the Fractional widths problem, it did not adequately explain the difficulties. >My personal feelings here (and others will probably agree) is that you >can't please everyone - but you can always try. The printer driver it is advertised to work with, namely the Imagewriter driver, is not fully compatible with ATM. Too bad. I said this was my last flame, but I didn't like the implications in your posting and I could not let it go unaddressed. ------------------------------------------ Alexander J. Alexander, I want to apologize for accusing you. The way you had your message worded didn't make it sound like you owned a copy, but were just flaming Adobe and ATM because it wasn't perfect. Again, I'm sorry. > I actually read the manual and the large number of corrections in >the file on the disk, while it peaked my curiousity about the Fractional >widths problem, it did not adequately explain the difficulties. One of the problems of trying to keep a manual small and readable for all levels of users. I'll add a "list/explanation" of techinical features to the want list for the next version. > You are right, you can't please everybody, but I'm not blaming >adobe for not fixing limitation with Apple's or other's software, so much as >blaming Adobe for the imperfections of its product. Adobe is working on a better solution to all spacing and other problems with ATM. Since it is such new and in many ways radical technology there were problems that appeared (in larger scale) than first imagined. Reminds on my first 128K Mac. All of our registered users (hint: send in those reg cards - you may win that printer too) will receive information on when any updates/upgrades to ATM will be made available. Once again, sorry if I "ass-u-me-d" too much. I hope Adobe will have you back as a satisfied customer in the near future. -- Brian Bezanson bezanson@adobe.com Adobe Systems Incorporated The opinions expressed above are my own and may not represent those of Adobe.
