My department recently purchased Visual 310 terminals. Many of the writers and editors use vi, and have found that attempts to use dd or any other delete functions scramble the screen output, requiring the extra step of a ^l to redraw it. Supposedly, the vi310 emulates the DEC vt100. The manual, however, indicates that DEC emulation can only be accomplished on the "lesser" model (the vi300). I was recently supplied with a termcap program for the vi310 which, when installed, creates even more on-screen problems in vi than does the vt100 "emulation." Any help would be appreciated; and I'll attempt to answer whatever questions I can. -- Ken Wolman Bell Communications Research @ Livingston, NJ lcuxc!kenw You can't "read" me because I'm not a book.
