I'm currently using the uupc that was posted to comp.binaries.mac to transfer mail between my mac and the SCO XENIX version 2.3 system here at work. The interface is ugly (but works as advertised - one of the things mentioned in the readme files was that the interface desperately needs work), and if you're not familiar with setting up uucp systems you're probably going to have a rough time of it. There's no rn available that I know about. -- James Moore | Nil aon .sig maith agam anois - Santa Cruz Operation UNIX Tech Support | B'fheidir an tseachtaine seo jamesm@sco.com | chugainn.

Information Electronics of Ithaca, NY will be releasing a uucp compatible product for the Mac in early Q1'90. The IE product is designed to be used as a Gateway/Bridge to CE Softwares QuickMail. IE was origionally going to release it as a standalone product (and may eventually do that) but made the decision that it would be better to integrate it into existing Mac services. It allows mail to flow freely between UUCP and QuickMail sites. Binary file transfers look like QuickMail file enclosures from the Mac side and UUCP uusends from the UNIX side. I believe that they plan to release a shareware version that does not support binary files around Jan 1. The integration with QuickMail solves the Mac uucp interface problem. I understand that the product price will be very reasonable. I believe that they are currently accepting applications for Beta Users. Only a very small number though. They also will release a companion to this product that supports...you guessed it Usnet News.
