My company has a customer in London that is trying to use an AppleShare server. (Well, actually it's a Unix system running CAP acting as an AppleShare server, but that's not important right now.) Since he had never used AppleShare before, the AppleShare file wasn't in his system folder. When he put it there, things seemed to work until he tried to mount the server volume, at which point a message appeared: "AppleShare not completely installed. Boot off an AppleShare client disk or re-install AppleShare." So he tried booting from his system floppy and, lo and behold, everything worked fine! So what does that "not completely installed" message mean? What exactly is not installed? Please help; booting from floppy is unacceptable as a long- term solution. E-Mail if you like; I'll summarize. -- You may redistribute this article only to those who may freely do likewise.
