[comp.sys.mac] Looking for comments on MacScheme+Toolsmith

plogan@mentor.com (Patrick Logan) (11/19/89)

(A friend was trying to post a similar article but has
been having trouble. Sorry for any duplication!)

I would appreciate hearing from folks who've used the
Toolsmith portion of MacScheme+Toolsmith.

For instance I'm interested in performance of the application, ease of
using the interface to the Mac toolbox (esp. considering its
interrupt-driven style vs. usual event-loop style), comparison of
developing with it vs. C and Pascal systems you've used on the Mac.

Would you choose to use it again? Why?

Also, what is your level of experience with Lisp/Scheme? Have you paid
much attention to the efficiency of how you use Scheme data structures
wrt garbage collection? Have you paid much attention to converting
between Scheme data and Mac data? Were the results acceptable?

Any other comments/experiences appreciated!

Thanks very much.
