[comp.sys.mac] ResEdit, ResMENU, and ResCicn problems

tjc@mbunix.mitre.org (Colley) (11/22/89)

Hello,

I've been trying to incorporate ResMenu and ResCICN into
ResEdit, and not having much success with either. I've tried
them both (separately) several times, installing them exactly
as their accompanying documentation says (and, have tried
them under the Finder and MultiFinder, with and without 32bit
QuickDraw, and without any startups or inits.

First the problems:
ResMenu V1.2b4 -- After opening a MENU resource, clicking
in the close box does not cause the window to close. It
remains around, and its contents get corrupted eventually.

ResCICN V1.0b4 -- After opening a cicn, the resulting
window is tiny and the color icon is small and distorted
(about 8 pixels wide and 12 pixels high). Sometimes the
window is not even large enough for 8x12 pixels.

I am using:
   ResEdit Version 1.2d1 (dated Jan 12, 1988).
Mac II, 5MB RAM, 40MB Internal Disk, one 800Kb floppy
   Finder 6.1
   System 6.0.2
   color monitor (8-bit video).

If you have a possible solution please e-mail to me. If you
have had the same problems, e-mail also. If enough people
have had the same problems, I'll post any reasonable
solutions. Thank you

Tom Colley
