Did you use the Installer or just drag a new System file over? Could be you did not get the Mouse cdev version needed for that System version. Just a guess, can't try it myself. ALWAYS use the Installer! Otherwise, it might be a flakey battery. -R (Armadillo)

Well, thanks to Karl Smith (ksmith@jarthur.claremount.edu), this problem is solved! It seems that for some odd reason, Stepping Out II (which I had *completely* forgotten about) was causing the problem. After I took it out of my System Folder and rebooted everything was hunky-dorey. Yeahhh!
