[comp.sys.mac] Word Perfect: Is there a patch out?

rsklar@pikes.Colorado.EDU (Malus Dominii) (11/21/89)

I've heard and seen that Word Perfect has a bug that if you save a file
(supposedly, only for the first save of that file) to a 3.5" disk from within
the program, it will often damage your disk. I'm not sure if this is physical
damage or just screwing up something needed by the Finder. After the damage
is done, none of our Macs (SEs and IIs) will read the disk beyond telling you
that it is damaged and asking if you want to re-init. I take back a previous
statement: it is not physical damage, as I have re-inited some affected disks
and they work fine.

Is there a fix/patch/new version (I'm using 1.0.1 of Word Perfect) that
corrects this?

I know of no "file trashing" due to Word Perfect -- and I have been using
it (although casually, until just two weeks ago) for about one year.

I am fairly pleased with it starting w/version 1.0.2 -- the latest is version
1.0.3. But overall, no problems of the nature you described even w/verion
1.0.0.
