Greetings! I need some pointers and/or references on printing software for a Mac. The situation is as follows. In the office where I work, we have a Mac connected to an Imagewriter. We use the system mostly for desktop publishing but do not have the money to purchase a Laserwriter. Up until recently, we simply collected all of the files we needed to print with the desktop publishing program on a disk and took them to the Macintosh lab on campus. This worked fine until the people at the lab changed the software and our cludged-up software could no longer talk to the Laserwriter. We have since succumbed to the urge to send off a few bills, to the software company responsible, for an upgraded version which will work but also will not fit on a floppy. We are therefore left without a convenient method to print our documents using the facilities we have on campus. This brings me to the purpose of this posting. I would like to obtain software to manage the printing chores. The first thing I need is a program to simply print a postscript file. This would narrow the problem down some and save us from the chore of importing everything into Word. The next thing I would like to get is something that could pretend it was a laser printer and direct the output to the file of our choosing. Command-F works but it gets to be a little awkward especially since our Imagewriter doesn't support Appletalk and goes into convulsions whenever we use chooser to select the Laserwriter for the output of our postscript file. Can anybody tell me where I can get such critters. If so, would you be so kind as to tell me where i can get them. Of course, if anybody has a better solution then please relay that to me, I am all ears (eyes, whatever). NOTE: I do not read this newsgroup. I am already swamped by schoolwork.
