I called Preferred Publisher's today to find out the status of their
Personality product, a collection of cdevs for altering the appearance of
your Mac; in particular, I'm interested in a Soundmaster-like cdev which
plays sounds after certain Mac operations, but (unlike Soundmaster) does not
store them in memory. Personality was originally supposed to be released in
October, then late November. Guess what? Now it's set to ship at the end
of January. (I didn't ask what year...)
*sigh* If someone with ftp access were to post the new snd playing cdev that
was placed in the Info-Mac archives, I'd be greatly pleased. (Or e-mail it
to me and I'll send it in.) I might even send those new STAR
TREK II and BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA sounds I (with a sound->snd utility)
to comp.binaries.mac. (Hinting for what you want at Christmas is an old
tradition; using bribes is even older.)
