I have a unix utility called "xmac" which converts a ".hqx" file and then sends it via MacBinary. I got this a long time ago and I don't remember where I got it. I need the sources so I can compile it on anonther machine. I looked on sumex but didn't see it. Is it a part of xbin or some other shar file?? Any help would be appreciated. tj Tony Jacobs * Center for Engineering Design * U of U * t-jacobs@cs.utah.edu

I know of an XMAC program a friend of mine (Kris Kreutzman, now at Apple) wrote and release that transfered files between Macs and VAX/VMS systems. It used the old Macterminal XMODEM protocol (predated MacBinary, but similar functionality). It was distributed as VMS Pascal source code. It's still being used by lots of people (at least back at DEC). But it never worked on Unix (and never will!). Of course, there may be another XMAC out there... Claris Corp. | Michael R.
