I am looking for an inexpensive spreadsheet (legitimate copy) for my Mac Plus. If anyone can point me in the right direction for purchasing a low cost one, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be using it for home use and cannot justify spending several hundred bucks for something that I will only use a little bit. thanks in advance 'mark -- regards 'mark ahlenius uunet!motcid!ahleniusm

At "straight" list price, the best one by far to go with would be MacCalc, from Bravo. It's fast, lean, and capable. Its major shortcoming, compared to the heavyweights, is lack of graphics. For a while, it was possible to get Wingz very cheaply (under $100) by supplying something saying you were an Excel user. (Officially you were supposed to send the cover page of an Excel manual or somesuch, though I heard that some people got it simply by claiming to be Excel owners, without documentation). Not having seen this promo lately, I assume it's over. Wouldn't be a bad idea to check with Informix, though...
