We would like to backup some Mac II's through the serial port. The serial port is connected through a 9600 baud telecommunications network to a Unix system (Sun). Right now we use Versaterm for ordinary communications, and transfer single files back and forth using the old "Mac Xmodem" protocol in Versaterm and the public domain Unix programs "macput" and "macget". But what we'd like to be able to do is have the Mac transmit an entire directory (and its subdirectories recursively) to the Unix host. Similarly, we'd like to be able to easily copy an entire directory and its subdirectories back to the Mac. Does anybody know of software capable of doing this? It doesn't have to be shareware stuff; cost is no object :-) if it's simple and robust. Please send me email directly. ---- Henry Kautz :uucp: allegra!kautz :arpa/internet: kautz@allegra.att.com or kautz@research.att.com :csnet: kautz%research.att.com@RELAY.CS.NET :old csnet: kautz%allegra@btl.csnet :mail: AT&T Bell Laboratories Room 3C-402A 600 Mountain Ave. Murray Hill, N.J. 07974 :telephone: (201) 582-2815
