[net.music] *American Tune* source query

If someone can help, please respond by mail (I'll post to the net, if anyone
really cares): I *know* that Paul Simon took the tune for *An American Tune*
from an earlier work; I have heard it several times, but have never gotten the
title. If someone can tell me, please do.

(Possibly interesting similar point: if you check out the English paraphrase
of "Nous Voici Dans La Ville" in the *Oxford Book of Carols*, you'll find

	Hostess:	My guests are rich men's daughters
			And sons, I'd have you know!
			Seek out the poorer quarters
			Where the ragged people go....	)
