My lab group is in the market for a flexible statistics program that does general linear models in a Mac-like way. We're also interested in parametric tests, general data analysis, and graphing. I've seen Statview SuperANOVA and it looks good, but I was warned that it crashes. It's owner showed me impressive literature on SAS's new program called JMP, and mentioned that the new Datadesk version 3 now does GLM. I'd like comments from anyone who has used JMP -- is it as incredible as it sounds? Does Datadesk 3 still have the same strange "desktop" constraints that Datadesk Professional had (the program builds its own desktop, forcing you to manipulate icons). How was GLM implemented? And what do people think about SuperANOVA? Please reply to me. I'll summarize if there's enough commentary. -- Hank Strub UCSD, Program in Cognitive Science hbstrub@ucsd.edu hbstrub@ucsd.bitnet (619)534-2541
