A few months ago Apple posted a request for images used in research, which were to be put on a CD-ROM and made available. I would like more information about that CD-ROM: is it available, and if so, how? What images does it contain? Has anyone heard of it since? Harry Plantinga planting@cs.pitt.edu

There is a thing called the Apple Science CD-ROM, and I believe an Education version, which is available without charge from Apple, but only for bona fide University people (how that is defined, I do not know.) I teach at George Washington U in Washingto D.C. Got mine last weekend. There are a lot of images from NIH, some stuff that makes Mathematica look really interesting, and some 3-4 rotation demos. Nearly all of the images are abstract, although there are a few pictures of Mars, Jupiter, shorelines, etc. If you do not have at least a Mac II (for the color and the speed), I cannot imagine that it is a lot of fun. But the price is right. Terry Monks Automata Design Inc -- Terry Monks
