[comp.sys.mac] D1 error

cbouscho@umn-d-ub.D.UMN.EDU (Charles Bouschor II) (12/08/89)

I recently read about the problems with the D1 error, and the failure of
SUM II to optimize all of the hard disk...I too sufferred from this
malady. Here is what I found.

I called SUM II people and they said that the error was due to a lost
file, cluster ect. I should run the Apple utility Disk First Aid and it
will fix the problem. Then I should re optimize the drive. I was
sketical that this would work because I had not had any problem with the
drive prior to running SUMII. I humbly tried disk first aid...damn they
were right. When I reoptimized viola...all fixed, packed and tucked
away.

I did this with a mac + and a CMS 20 meg external drive, and a IIcx
internal 40 meg.

Hope this helps!
