[comp.sys.mac] SPICE for the MacII

jt24+@andrew.cmu.edu (Joseph R. Turner) (12/02/89)

Hello,

I am a EE from CMU and I'm interested in finding a SPICE-like program (reall
an exact version of SPICE designed to run on the Mac). I have a MacIIcx with
4 Megs of RAM and 80 Megs of harddisk. I have seen some cheap circuit
simulators that were unable to handle large ckts or different types of
analyses - that is not what I want. I'll post any good results that I get.
Thanks,
Joe Turner,jt24@andrew.cmu.edu

Try MacSpice from Deutsch Research - 415-327-8677.
There is also PSPICE but I think that it is more expensive (for the REAL
version - not the student version).

Hi everybody,

Well after a weekend of replies, this is what I came up with: If I (anybody) wants a version of SPICE for less than $1300, they can get the student version of PSPICE. The number to call for info is (714) 770-3022. Ahhh, but all is not as good as it would seem... This version of SPICE only handles about 10 transistors, which (if you are like me) is kinda useless for simulating large ckts, ie AD converters, wideband amps, etc... The only other suggestion I got was to try Logic Works, but I have seen this pr

ogram and it is more for the Digital people I feel. Any additional info would be greatly appriciated.

P.S. The version of PSPICE is free(I wonder why...).

Did you say that it was FREE? Can it be posted on comp.binaries.mac, then?
