I just discovered this last night. I started up my Mac, clicked on a couple of icons, and then my mouse froze. Everything else still worked (the keyboard, etc.), but I couldn't do anything but re-start since I was just on the desktop. I have narrowed it down that it only happens in MultiFinder. I thought maybe some of my system files might be damaged, or that an Init could be causing it. So, I removed all inits, and replaced all system files, including MultiFinder. This did not help, I kept reproducing the problem over and over again each time I set the startup to be MultiFinder. I could not reproduce the problem under the Finder. What could this be? I have a Mac Plus, which just two weeks ago I upgraded to 4MB RAM. A friend of mine helped me install the RAM. I also have a Magic 20 (MacProducts) external hard disk that is about 3 years old. Another thing is that the Power Supply was recently replaced, and when the Apple dealer replaced it, they improperly adjusted the screen width. We just took it in a week ago to have this readjusted, and it was discovered that the width adjuster was stuck and the guy trying to fix it broke a little piece of it off. In breaking the little piece of it off, the screen adjusted to the correct dimensions (???!!!). The repairman said we could try to pursue with Apple to get this fixed without charge (our warranty on the new power supply is already up), but he didn't think it was worth worrying about since the screen is now correct. Anyway, I am just trying to mention everything in the history of the Macintosh on the chance that it might have *anything* to do with the mouse-freezing problem. I am not going to get much enjoyment out of my 4MB RAM without being able to use MultiFinder!!!!! Please e-mail responses.
