[comp.sys.mac] Using Omnis 3.25 with System 6.0.4

Bill_W_Michling@cup.portal.com (12/10/89)

Has anyone installed System 6.0.4 while using Omnis 3.25 (AppleShare)?
After installing the new system the fonts of data that has been entered
looks like giberish. After removing System 6.0.4 and replacing it with
System 6.0.2 the fonts for the entered data were back to normal. As a test
I tried to install System 6.0.4 with the installer again with the same re-
sults. This happened on a Mac plus, Mac SE, and a Mac IIx.

Anyhelp would be appreciated as I would like to upgrade the endusers to 6.0.4
Thanks.

Omnis 3+ has the wonderful feature that you have just discovered.
You can use two differnt methods to work around the feature.

1) Boot with the old system when you want to work with old data
bases. Fresh started ones will work with the new system.

2) Convert your old files by exporting them with the Omnis ultility
program under the old system, and then importing them to a new
data base under the new system.
