This evening (or actually yesterday evening), I noticed a problem with printing boldface Avant Garde on the ImageWriter II using Word 4. When a friend showed up (Chris Tate, CXT105), we decided to do a few experiments. We noticed that both Word 4 and Ready, Set, Go! 4.0 did not accurately print the string, "Preface/Organization of Chapters:" in boldface. Specifically, the last three words ran together (actually printing the letters n and o on top of each other, as well as f and C), when Best quality was selected. (It prints correctly in Faster quality) We later tested MacWrite II on the same string, and discovered that MacWrite II prints this string correctly. We noticed that this problem affected all Laser Fonts which we attempted to print in boldface on the Imagewriter. So what did Claris do right? -Sonja and Chris (we are using System 6.0.3, Finder 6.1, and AppleTalk Imagewriter 2.7. No multifinder. More details available on request.)
