I recently obtained the Adobe Type Manager for my Mac system (IIx, Laser Writer IISC, System 6.03, and MasterJuggler). I installed all the outline fonts in the MasterJuggler folder, as directed, and skeletonized the fonts contained in my system file to the 10 and 12 point sizes of the Adobe fonts, which includes the ATM Plus pack, and all the point sizes of Chicago, Geneva, Monaco, New York, and Neshota. Incidentally, I have point sizes in Geneva which go from 5 all the way up to 80. Now everything was going well, I mean there's no denying the printed output is terrific, until I noticed that several of my applications that usually use Geneva as a default font for either text or window information started using Helvetica Narrow instead. This includes Wingz, ResEdit, Sidekick, and most unfortunately the System itself. For example, the information in the bottom of the scrapbook window is printed in Helvetica Narrow. I wouldn't really mind except that Helvetica Narrow is very difficult to read on screen at small sizes, so I do find this very annoying. I checked for font numbering conflicts and found none. I tried to change font resources in some of the applications and got nowhere. I even ran Disinfectant 1.4, thinking I might have caught a virus, and no viruses were found. Finally, I was running MacEnvy and noticed that the default font for the system is now listed as N Helvetica Narrow. Did I change the default font, which should be Geneva, just installing ATM; and if so, how do I correct this? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Please help. My vision is getting squintier by the minute! KHS@cup.portal.com
