Dear Sir,
I am a second year undergraduate at The University of Kent
at Canterbury. I am studying for an honours degree in Computer Systems
Engineering. In order to get some experience 'in the field' I am seek-
ing some form of relevant employment during the summer vacation. The
following are the dates between which I will be available for employ-
ment. Monday 9th July until Friday 28th September.
Although this course is ultimately a hardware biased course there
is a lot of software engineering included. The main language studied is
Pascal although I have programming experience in BASIC. The operating
systems I have experience with are UNIX and EMAS of which UNIX is the
most frequently used.
Programming experience includes many pieces of software for the
M6800 microprocessor, notably an interrupt-driven paper tape reader and
other smaller utility routines. Pascal experience includes extending a
compiler for a structured language (written locally). Pascal is the main
language taught and used. I also have experience of programming the Z80
microprocessor.
Constructional experience includes building many electronic kits,
and other small magazine projects. Design experience includes the design
of a Z80 based computer, this involved designing and constructing the
VDU, CPU and memory circuits. This project also involved writing a small
operating system to allow programs to be written, executed and saved on
tape.
My home address is in Mill Hill. If you could offer me employment
or an interview please contact me at my home address. I thank you very
for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Sean Lange.
