Are you sick and tired of that watch cursor that comes up when the Mac is opening folders or copying files? Do you want something different? If so, then this document is for you. Below is a ResEdit document with CURS and acur resources for the Finder. To use it, download this file, cut above the Binhex data, run Binhex or Stuffit to de-Binhex the data. You will make a ResEdit document. Make a copy of your finder, and REPLACE the acur and CURS resources with what is below. If you wish, also replace CURS ID=4 from the System with one of the cursors given below. CURS ID=4 should be the watch, and the best way to do this is to open one of my cursors, hold down the shift key, and use the mouse as you would the "box" tool from MacPaint. Copy the cursor, select CURS ID=4 from the System, then Paste. You will need to use the menu function Data -> Mask after pasting. I have tested downloading this file on my Plus, and it works. I cannot imagine why it would not work on any machine, but if you use this you do so at your own risk. Furthermore, ResEdit is very easy to use, but I will not take any responsibility if you mess up your hard drive or anything else. If you are unsure how to install this, ask a local Mac guru. BTW, I'm sorry if posting this binary here is against netiquette, but it is so short and harmless (no code involved) that I felt it was more appropriate here than in binaries.mac.
